Default new chain required?

Ok cleaning my chain the other day and taking the scottoiler off (just fed up with all the hassle now) i noticed that the split link rivet had a slight about of resistance in it (sticking) compared to the other links in the chain. I also noticed that when fexing the chain side to side there was no movement in any of the links appart from the split link where there was approximatly 0.5mm of movement (like the pin was too small)

so im thinking new chain and sprockets? what does the mighty org think? and can they recomend a suitable place to get them (bandc are too expensive)

for new chain etc try DKMotorcycles.Believe it or not, the ebay site is more expensive than the main web site. The upgraded VM2 kit for the curvy s is £89.95 on the main site - at least £20 more on ebay. Postage to Spain is cheaper too on the main site.

Mullered like through it? A groove in them is normal.

If you're on a split link surely you wont need a rivitor.

sorry owenski its a rivet link.

yea yc. basically when they made these the sprocket sizes they were fitted with ment the chain runs on the rubbing strip. the guy that had it before me replaced the chain and sprockets WITH THE SAME BLOODY SIZE so i still have the issue. I replaced the rubbing strip with a new one made of harder material and it ate through 80% of it in a run down the m62!! the last few mm has lasted about 6k but its knackered now. And at 27 quid plus vat and postage i dont fancy replacing it again. So im thinking of using this as an excuse to get less earache about spending cash on the bike and not saving for a wedding. Still got to figure out how im going to convince her the track day in sept ive booked onto is an essential rider training day
