Default 15k service costs

Just had a quote back from a bike specifc garage. Was looking for a 15k full service and general check over including pads / valve clearance check and a fork oil change. I have been quoted £350. It seemed a bit steep to me but just wanted to know what others thought who had more experience of servicing / parts costs??

Whereabouts are you based? I got my 15k service done with Spannerman for about £300 i think. That was the valve clearances, all fluids changed, calipers serviced and changing the dogbones. Which all in all i thought was good.

tbh £350 for the 15K is pretty reasonable. If spannermans org rate is £300 that should tell you all you need to know.

Eek, I've got my 15k service coming up early next year most likely... guess I better make some space on the credit card!

many moons ago I had a 15k service done at a bike mechanics, it cost circa that with one or two bits that needed doing. So I reckon thats about right.

Fair enough! just wanted to check it was in the right ball park.

Whyte25 - im just round the corner from you in Addlestone. We shall have to get out for a ride soon if i pass my Mod 2 tomorrow! I know of spannerman but this guy is even more local to me (ie. i could walk back) and he has been recommended so i might give him a go.

Good luck tomorrow, whereabouts you doing it ?

Also who`s "the local guy" ? although you can`t really go wrong with spanner man and he does a 10% discount.

http://www.heartwoodmotorcycles.co.uk/index.htm

This is the local guy, supposed to be really good and its just up in Ottershaw so its a bit easier for me to get back from once ive dropped the bike off. TBH i wouldnt even hesitate in using Spannerman if it was easy for me to get a lift back once id dropped the bike off but its not always that easy!

Doing my DAS through Genesis in New Haw, Mod 2 is from farnborough tomorrow morning at about 10 am , fingers crossed
