I bought a V2R on Aug 10 and while I have found it a bit noisy and a wee bit draughty, it's comfortable enough and gives good vision, so I was happy enough.
That was until this morning. Today was the first day of proper rain since I bought the lid. I was filtering at 35mph and all of a sudden water started pouring through the top of the visor! Unbelievable!! Being resident in Glasgow I expect to be subjected to worse weather at higher speeds, so it has to go back. I just wondered whether anyone has any experience of taking a rubbish helmet back to a shop? I don't have the soft material case thing with me, nor the little rubber thing that covers your nose to stop the visor steaming up. Does anyone forsee any problems with this? I don't intend on getting a straight replacement, so my other question is can anyone suggets a nice quiet WATERPROOF!! helmet for around £250? Thanks everyone WB |

I seem to recall Irksy had problems with the visor fit on a Caberg helmet, the shop refused to take it back, but he found a different local shop who would talk to the area rep on his behalf and got it sorted.

I called the shop just now and they said take it on in and they'll look at it for me. I really don't want another one of them. I think the Sale of Goods Act backs me up here - item purchased isn't fit for purpose? I'm just going to say I don't trust the brand anymore and want to buy something else. I would think the guy should be alright with it as he'll be getting more money out of me anyway. Guess I'll know at lunctime....

After about an hour of back and forth, I managed to get my helmet switched. The sales guy originally wanted to send it off to Italy for 3-4 weeks for investigation work, but the manager stepped in and said he should just let me get a new lid if I wanted to do that.
So I put an extra bit towards it and bought the Shoei Qwest in black. It is very comfy and came with the pinlock insert so that's good. It's the new model that's taken over from the Raid II I think, and is apprently 60% quieter than that one. All in all, a fine result! |

Just seen this thread, as ive been thinking of getting a Caberg V2. I tried one one recently and really liked the fit, and the internal sun visor as i wear glasses.
Are they quite a rubbish lid then? Anyone here found them to be ok? |

I had the same on my Caberg Trip. It leaked summit cronic in really heavy rain. I took mine back and changed it like for like and my second one was flawless, still going now, and used for when I go into town.
I've had no experiance of the V2, but like I said my second Trip was awesome. But I'm not sure if I'd trust there consistancy. |

My V2 was great... my Trip is sh*t.
XR1000 is much better.

I had a V2, same problem along with many other problems, and I wouldn't touch another Caberg with a barge pole. I still wear it sometimes for round town trips and green laning, 'cos its got an easy seatbelt type fastener and I don't care if it gets damaged, or if I leave it hanging on a mirror, go into a shop, and it's not there when I come back (other than the fact I'd have to get a bus home to fetch another lid). Then I put it on now that I'm used to my HJC and it's horrible in comparison. Noisy, cold, drafty, fogs up, linings have all packed down, etc, etc. I don't know how I lived with it for the best part of 20000 miles.

very unimpressed with the sunvisor in my caberg, after about 1k miles its so loose it now wont stay in the parked position and falls down all the time, not a big problem as I dont ride in the dark this time of year.
Will try a complaint to the shop and caberg, doubt it will achieve much though. Lee |
