The battery on my alarm fob decided to die today.
Did it happen when I went to get out on my bike to go to get some new tyres? No. Did it happen when I was moving my bike from the car park to the workshop? No. Did it happen when I was trying to disable the motion sensor so they could work on the bike? Kind of but it let me turn the alarm off all together. Did it happen when I got on the bike to ride home? No. It happened when I was home safe and trying to get my bike in the garage. So even though I am annoyed that my bike is sat in the garage with brand new tyres on it that are begging to be scrubbed in and I can't get the bike started it could have been a lot worse. At least I hope it was the battery anyway, new one in its way from Ebay. PS why would anyone want to fit an alarm to a bike? It's so much more trouble than it's worth and doest reduce your insurance premiums by enough to make it worth while.

I've had this discussion on the triumph forum, I agree btw, alarms on bikes are more trouble than they are worth.

That or an alarm that runs off its own battery and doesn't immobilise the bike when it goes kaput. Like an alarm disc lock...now that's an idea... |

somewhere i have seen a alarm that has its own battery and has a key to enable/disable it. about £100 if i remember correctly. i think data tool made them but im not too sure you would have to research it.

OK new battery in the fob, alarm still playing up, managed to pres a certain combination of buttons and now the alarm will arm and disarm but I still cant disable the motion sensor.
Anyone want a free alarm? All they have to do is come and remove it from the bike.

There are actually worse alarms. Not much worse, and you have to look really hard.
