The piston in the rear brake on my friends cbr won't go back, it still works (kinda all the time), it comes on but when you take the pressure off the pedal it's still applied. Bike rolls but with noticeable resistance.
I've taken the caliper off, pads out, cleaned the pins, wound the piston back in, applied copper grease but after putting it back together it's still not returning. What's needed? I'm guessing stripping the caliper, a good clean and new seals? Cheers Last edited by dyzio; 09-06-11 at 09:53 PM. |

That's what I'd do.

My wifes rear caliper was seized on her cbr125, I took it off got pistons out as much as poss scrubbed with a toothbrush and some wd40 scrubbed it with some hot soapy water afterwards dryed it and alubbed with rubber greased pusshed back down, pumped out again put a bit more grease on it push them down again copper greased the rear of the pads popped them in and the pin and now it works perfect.
