It's not possible, not in London anyway. OK I ride "spiritedly" on occasion but I'm not a nutter by a long chalk.
Today I rode into London, Docklands. From the A3 / M25 junction to Docklands I reckon I went past 19 cameras on 30, 40 and 50 limits in one direction. It's Sunday morning, no traffic and big wide dual carriageways and wide London roads. I'm aware of speed cameras and I can see the signs and look for the big Yellow camera's even though some on on the inside of corners and hidden by trees. I get to Docklands go into a tunnel from a 40 and flash, **** me, I was doing 37 didn't notice the speed limit change to 30 and the grey camera 20 odd feet above catches me. That's two 37's in a 30 in the space of a month, £170 in fines or whatever it will be. It's bloody impossible, theres so little margin for error and obviously cameras don't assess risk or driving conditions, it soooo flaming annoying! I wouldn't mind if I was caught speeding well over and riding like a loon, but for crying out loud how can you realistically keep a clean license nowadays? |

Im in the process of sending a NIP for speeding 36 in a 30 off the nice people at the camera enforcement department which imo is (an offer to contract with them), i have written on the Notice (NO CONTRACT RETURN TO SENDER) the same on the envelope and sealed this back up and i am going to take it down the post office tomorrow and get a certificate of posting.
Now i have been flamed for mentioning this on here and will probably get all the politicaly correct bods on here jumping on me again (I care not) so please dont bother, this is a method that has been used by others with supposed success obviously i cannot confirm this personaly until i have succeeded myself i should know in a few weeks. Obviously this is a break from the normal way of thinking that we are helpless and should just bend over and take whats coming from the power's that be, which is the way i used to think aswell but well i guess i dont want to anymore so this is my rebelion ![]() I am entering into this process with my eye's wide open and i know i am not guaranteed success but i am willing to try and will take any consequence's should they arise. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. |

Alter your plate lol, seriously unpleasant even in a car, imo makes the drive more dangerous as eyes spend less time on the road and more time checking the speedo.
Nearly paid for a decent bike sat nav in fines mate, might be worth it in the long run. |

Take your plate off, in the event you get pulled "oh some pikey tw*t must have nicked it, it was there this morning, awfully sorry". Of course if you get pulled shortly after passing a camera you may have issues.
Make sure you clean the pads where it would normally sit regularly so it's not obvious you do it as habit. Probably depends where you park too. Dead easy to have perfectly legal fun round here, find a road that sounds like "B12345 unsuitable for everything" and go nuts ![]() So basically don't go down South?

Pick your roads, pick your times.
I've been riding since way before a million speed cameras infested our roads, and when the Old Bill Security Co Ltd, (very), were significantly more interested in us than they are now and in reality nothing's changed - you've always had to to careful about where you do what you do. I seem to manage it, it's a very different skill to riding in the sticks - but it's no less fun.

![]() Town way systems and roundabouts used to be my biking playground, you couldn't even think about that now. I would have been banged up by the time I was 19. I'm not going back to London on two wheels again. |

I was caught doing 36 in a 30 in London a few months ago along a road I thought was a 40. Doing spot on 40 on the speedo, flash, what the hell?
I hate riding in London. |
