Default Removing polish?

Ive started to try and polish out some of the scratches on some plastics, using new mops and very fine grade polish, only a small amount on the mop each time, never staying in the same place for to long and constant flowing movement.

Now my problem is its leaving a the waxy residue behind in small and large amounts that is almost impossible to get off without hours of scrubbing.

ive tried white spirit, teacut, brake cleaner, brick cleaner, nitromorse and heat but nothing seems to shift it at all.

ideas people ? or should i just crack out the marigolds and scrub away?

Thanks
Brock.

its got to look pretty before it goes outside in the big world.
also massive lumps and lines of hard polish is not a good look.

i take it you are referring to polishing clear and or unpainted plastics? if so then you are best hand buffing. the build up of 'waxy residue' might not be polish it might actually be the plastic itself. try using some water to cool the buffing head and don't press to hard, let the buffer do the work.
