I'm planning a fairly leisurely ride up on Friday if the weather is reasonable.
Something like: A40 - A413 - A43 - M1 (first fuel stop Leicester Forest East, 102 miles) Depending on time I might then be tempted by Orose's suggestion, "...swing a left at Derby off the M1, then A6 through Matlock to Rowsley, through the Chatsworth estate, Baslow - Calver - Grindleford - Hathersage - Bamford and on to Snake Pass, then hang a right at the end to take you back up on to Woodhead pass, from which you can head over Holme Moss into Holmfirth and towards Huddersfield." If the weather is nasty I'll just go for the motorway route. Keith. Last edited by keith_d; 11-07-11 at 05:52 PM. |

It's more than 3 weeks away, since when do we plan that far ahead? By all means book the day off to make sure you can enjoy the trip up, but don't plan. It is most un-soho-like.
