Default Bike scam?

I've found a bike, that's really cheap, it's been dropped, but hasn't been reported apparently. The fairings are scuffed on one side and that's it. The owner is out of town or something or other so it can't be viewed, but they're willing to deliver it anywhere to be viewed and tested before any money is handed over.

They also want it to all be done through eBay (the bike is just on a advertising site at the moment) so that there's security there for both parties. Now obviously the bike would be HPI'd before purchase, and the owner says they have all the documents, both the ECU's and the grab rail, pillion seat AND the cowl, which would make it hard to have been nicked.

Now it's one of those "If it's too good to be true..." things, but I'm struggling to see where the scam could be, any one have any ideas?

Might help if we could see the listing number?

I've seen a VFR on Gumtree that was too good to be true, several adverts at wildly differing prices. One to avoid I thought

It's not on eBay, but here's the ad.

It's ridiculously cheap, I emailed out of curiosity and have been sent some photos showing the damage. I don't think my parents would let me buy it even if i wanted to, I'm just curious about it.

Yes, it does seem very cheap. The VFR I saw was of a similar age and only £1500!

I'm sure that most Sv's of that age would go for over £2000 at least.

Don't part with money before you see it, HPI it, check frame number and reg match up with documentation. demand to see it ridden and/or running. Give it a good check over and jobs a good'un.

Definitely a bit fishy at that price. I hope to god whoever does buy it does a HPI check!

Never mind the SV, have you seen the '07 Blade and the '06 GIxxer 750 at the bottom. Both £2,500, both low mileage either somebody needs money quick or its not their bike

Ask for the reg for hpi. If they say no then walk away. Way too cheap and seems fishy. Maybe a typo to gain interest?
