Default whats got the same power as sv1000?

Im only speculating about changing to something else
Prob is
1. I LOVE the v twin noise
2. I like the power/torque it has (instantly gratifying lol)
3. maybe thinking more along the tourer ways (ok, sporty tourer)
4. dont want anything older than 3-4 years max (i like the modern look)

So what could i be looking at?
Have considered
B-king
multisrada
then my limit of what has comparable power to the sv falls seriously short
The last thing i want is to drop to something slower than what i have now.
I dont mean top end, more bottom end oomph
Had a go on my mates 58plate z1000 and found it slow as mud compared to my thou
Opinions?

a late 749 will be slightly more
the old RSV or tonno will tick the boxes
SL1000 falco will also, but are like hens teeth

Trumpet sprint, torque of a twin, but loads of power as well, they will pull like a bitch in any gear from virtually any revs.

I've not ridden one so cant really comment, but theres a few on the forum that own them and Luckypants doesnt hang around on his.

Would have thought the V4 would give good low down power, but then when the VTEC comes in it'll destroy your SV1000. Plus its got a huge tank on it and will take luggage as well so will easily meet the touring requirement you have.

The sprint has a load more torques than the vfr, but agree with Fizz the vfr would be loads faster than the sv

If you're hooked on that V-twin noise the Futura is a good bet, though last production was 2003 so you'll have to shop around for a decent one. The things to look for are good condition, well maintained and the original panniers.

If you're after the jack-of-all-trades bike there's the VFR800. The VTEC seems to be a love/hate thing, so try and take one for a test ride and see if it works for you. The design was pretty much unchanged between 2003 and 2009 and you've got everything from scruffy Cat-C bikes to shiny low mileage examples out there.
