Default RIP John MacAleese , Top Notch SAS

It has been confirmed today that John MacAleese has passed away . For those that don`t know he was one of the first into the Iranian Embassy siege in 1980 . He died of a heart attack in Thessaloniki in Greece .

I`ll never forget the night that British TV stopped and went live to the siege . The Black Clad SAS clambering over the embassy and within 15 minutes it was all over ...... and the newspapers revealed over the next few days that Britain had a Regiment of no-nonsense soldiers who were prepared to go into the toughest situations you could imagine and do what it took to get a result .

He's with his son now, a sgt who was killed trying to help an injured colleague in Afghanistan. May they both rest in peace.

RIP

I have seen him interviewed often.. felt upset for him when his son died a few months back.. maybe it is the strain of that ..

I read all Chris Ryan and Andy Mcnabb and just read one on holiday mentioning the siege at the embassy and the guys on that job.

RIP to him .. they do a good job and dont get the recognition . Indeed many of their "jobs" are attributed to other forces or foreign police etc.
