I'm after a Sat Nav that I can both on the bike and in the car. I really don't see the point in buying one for each.
I have done a bit reasearch, seems there are mixed views on the TomTom Rider. I need something covers Western and Eastern Europe that is easy to see/read thats it. Any suggestions? |

Having now got experience with both TomTom Rider and Garmin Zumo, I think TomTom is better and easier to use than Garmin, and is significantly cheaper. |

if you're set on a bike sat nav then you're talking about a significant outlay, I couldn't see the justification for that amount, when I could get a complete solution for £50, I use a car Satnav in one of these, the holder is now about £19 from HG (I got mine for £15 a few years back), and a good car satnav was had of Ebay for £35, it works really well and is easy to swap between my bikes, but up to you how much you want to spend.
Cheers Mark.

Ive gone the expensive route on this - no point scrimping i say.
I've attached velcro £1.99 from asda to the back of my samsung galaxy s2 phone case (already used the case to protect phone at £6.99 from the market) and the other half goes across the revcounter. An inline fused direct from battery cigarette lighter socket at £1.99 delivered from ebay tucked into the nose fairing and bob is your uncle. Google maps now has turn by turn satnav navigation for the uk for free on android and if going elsewhere you can precache maps of the areas you're likely to be eg major french towns to help find the cheap b&b you've prebooked but have left it until darkness to try and find... Or full western maps via copilot for somerhing like 30 quid. Generic phone holder and car charger for £4 and all bases covered. Can also see phone for Any important incoming calls etc and.have even found the touchscreen to work with my gloves on if i get my finger right to the end of the glove ![]() Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk |

I use my Tom Tom 920 which I got for the car a few years ago.
Bought a waterproof case and Ram mount for the bike. Works a treat. |

I've got the 710 and like a proper mount for it but from what I can see they clamp round outside and make no allowance for charging. |

I have been using CoPilot on my Android HTC phone. I place the phone in the tank bag & have earphones. The nice lady talks to me when I need to make a turn.
I can also listen to music whilst riding & she very kindly butts in with directions. I rode to Croyde in Devon with mine & found the place straight away. You can get European maps for it as well. Think it was only about £20...>Well worth it ![]()
