Default iPhone - near death experience

So I entered all my contacts via Oulook including birthdays. I thought I had checked all the boxes for reminders... You can probably guess where this is going.

Being a Numpty I thought that the phone would give me a nudge in advance. Not so. Or if it will I haven't figured it out.

Cut to 20 minutes ago and there is a new post on the forum saying happy birthday to someone who has just reached 50. The thought process went...

Nice of them to remember....
Doesn't Mum have a birthday in November?
Oh **** it's on Sunday
Too late to send a card now*
Interflora
Thank God delivered tomorrow (and done on the web by*the phone ironically)

There are some dates you can forget and escape with a flesh wound. Your Mum's isn't one of them.

Outlook does and will give you advance warning - any period you like. Think mine is set for 7 days notice.

But I've pretty much stopped using Outlook since I got the IPhone cos its so much easier for the limited among of mail I do. But the phone was synced to Outlook to start with to save retyping all my contacts .You'd have thought it wasn't beyond the wit of Microsoft or Apple to make sure reminders were downloaded as well. Ahmmm just answered my own question.

Stupid phone does reminders if you enter an event manually. Hence thinking I'd never miss another birthday
