Default Rugby World Cup Thread

Anybody watching this?
I will be cocking up my body clock over the next few weeks trying to take in as many games as I can.
2am Scotland v Romania tonight is guna be a killer!!

Just finished watching the opener between hosts New Zealand and Tonga. Some amazing rugby being played by New Zealand. Flamboyant yet controlled. Second half Tonga came out much stronger and stemmed the tide of a New Zealand white wash and was happy for them to score that try!!

New Zealand 41 - Tonga 10

Can't wait to see the Springboks back in action!!

Yup, I'll be catching as many games as I can - working from home helps a great deal with this!

Had the NZ v Tonga game on in the background this morning, rather a nice way to start the day!

It's the only rugby I'll be getting for the next few months (rugby and warfarin don't mix too well!). The digital recorder will be working overtime to get them all.
Who do people fancy for the title?

New Zealand have got to be the safe bet...but they have a history of late tournament woes.

Apart from New Zealand I would put my money on South Africa.

Bit harsh fella!

2007 - Finalists
2003 - Winners
1999 - Quarter Finals

Not a bad world cup record really in recent times, although it's very very hard to look past the All Blacks on their home soil for this one.

England played amazingly in the Six Nations campaign!! As long as Toby Flood and Ben Youngs are playing. Them two were outstanding at the Six Nations. Just a shame Martin Johnson kept trying to bring on Johnny Wilkinson!!

England Rugby hasn't been brilliant prior to the Six Nations but they certainly don't suffer from the same foubles the England football team do.
