Default Another EU rideout

Seen this on facebook..

A lot of riders not happy that last weeks protests never even got a sniff of media coverage so they are planning to ride again, they are disassociating themselves away from MAG.

My personal opinion of last sunday was that there was no orginastion at all and it was a bit of a shambles

I may be missing the point but this seems stupid to me, completely undermines the point of the MAG ride

This is stupid it will do exactly what Lozzo, Fizzwheel and Messie etc all believed the MAG ride would do, it'll alienate motorcyclists and give us a negative image that the MAG ride tried so desperatly to avoid. The MAG ride may not have made the 9'0'clock news but it definetly got noticed where it mattered, MEP's were invited and some showed up to show thier support to our plee. They now go off knowing many many people are in disagreement with the proposals and they "should" then make our case in Brussels. As Riders we've now done our bit, played our part it should now be left to the MEP's to do some good work.

If riders return to our roads with the sole intention of causing chaos then I too would have to say I'd want to remain as distant from that as possible.

EDIT: I;ve added similar to the facebook wall.

+1 on all the above. Would be stupid to do again without MAG and would just cause hostility imho.

I'm undecided..
I think we did it the British way and to be honest it will get swept under the carpet, but if we did it like the French ( and i hate the French ) now that was a demonstration

It wasnt about shocking the EU into submission, the sole purpose of our presence was that MAG (who are out in Brussels fighting against these regulations) needed a way to display that they had the support of the majority of bikers in opposing those regulations.
Our partisipation on Sunday showed those paying attention to MAG that they do have that support, if anyone attends this thing all they're doing is showing that they want to cause disruption and that they had no clue what purpose the previous one served.
The riders attending have no spokesman, they have no agenda, they're false anarchists epitomising the negative image which the majority of bikers in this country have sucessfully shaken off.

What's the point? Even if it makes the UK news no one in Brussles will hear about it......

It will just p1ss everyone off.

The whole point of last week was to show support for MAG - so if you dissassociate yourself from MAG what are you supporting?

I totally agree with you. Whether the MEP's will do what you say or not, I dont know, but like you say now they know about the problem hopefully they will raise it.

Disassociating this from MAG will remove its credability and ruin the perception that you've all worked so hard to maintain...

it doesn't matter what you do EU will do what it likes and stuff you is their attitude. so to get them to change their attitude you would have to remind them who they actually work for and that would be us the people. to do this you would have to bring every major road in Europe to a standstill every day till they changed the proposal.

but the EU know this and they also know that the common person in the street don't give a monkeys and that upsetting a few bikers won't matter.

the manufacturers are going to love these new proposals if they get introduced as they stand to make a fortune by hiking up prices so i will bet that there have been a few palms greased to get the proposals threw. if you think they are doing this for safety measures then think again, its about money pure and simple as politicians don't give two flying fecks about the common person.

Afraid I have to agree with Owenski on this too. Its just a bunch of eejits wanting to kick up a fuss, to show what exactly?

The MAG one was carefully co-ordinated with the co-operation of the UKs police force to make it as safe as possible, run as smoothly as possible, and to show we aren't a bunch of rufty tufty smelly bikers, causing chaos and annoyance.....but as civilised as the next person.

I wouldn't have anything to do with this bunch, they'll be getting arrested next for inciting protests.....like them two chavs who posted up a page to incite riots!

Now if MAG were to do it again, but on a different more noticeable day....would folk turn out for it? I'm not too sure, as most think the one on Sunday seems to have slipped the radar a lot...or would it double in numbers?
