It was yesterday I drove 140 miles to snetterton to test my freshly (10pm Sunday) built minitwin. I must say as the start, yes it could be a little my fault finishing it and not testing it before that omission out the way. I went to get a noise test done pulled the front brake and it rubbed the fairing nearly clean off, bugger. Right missed first session out hacking the front subframe and adjusting brackets with drills and pliers. Went out for the second session and had to have an instuctor do sighting for me. Well 3/4 the way round the lap I'm thinking (I'm coming from an 84
![]() I have now missed the whole first half of the day. First session after lunch aaallllmmmooosssttt made without incident just a very tiny last lap misshap I ran over my foot, half highside it because my effin peg fell off. They had to hold the next session up for them to go out and pick it up. but before that I'm still thinking it's a bit slow (yes you guessed it something was up but I'll tell you in a minute) now determined not to be put out I went out for the last two sessions all was well I thought least it didn't kill me but again I might sell it as it really is slow. Now that's the crappiest trackday over tonight I start looking at and thought the tank was a bit low due to rear subframe change onto a different mount and maybe it was just choking it, as I lift the tank all comes to light I had done a hole trackday on HALF A F@"KING ENGINE!!!!!! The spade connector on the coil had removed itself. Anyone do any better or worse I should say. |

No, yours is the worse trackday ever. Half an engine, made me laugh, thank you. Schadenfreude on my part.

So basically you went out on a trackday on a bike so badly prepped that biuts were falling off to the extent that you caused other people to have their day disrupted?
Well done. (looks for the sarcasm smiley) At least you only nearly got other people hurt.

Just to note that the fairing was fine tested brakeing, but decided to drop the forks through and it just rubbed, the peg was on a set of rearsets that were sold to me complete from on here, the bolts to the frame were fine that i did, and had been used before so didnt think I needed to touch the bolts to the peg. And we were only just coming in on the last lap so may have held them up by about 2 mins max. The rod actually stripped itself could not have prep for that.
I have built a cbr600rr track bike for someone else and an 848 that I put together for track, then decided to race but turns out I won't be able to fund it in the 848 challenge. So built the mini twin to race on. |
