Default ZX6-R J1 shock fit SV?

Hi guys, the search button just isnt showing me what I want, although Im sure its here somewhere on the forum. I have a friend selling a 2001 (j1) ZX6R shock. The earliest info I can find on the zx6 shocks is only back to 2003, so I was just wondering if anyone knows whether this shock can easily be fitted to an 06 pointy, and whether or not the shock is on par with newer zx6/zx10 shocks in terms of performance and adjustability? Thanks guys

The shock from the Kawasaki ZX6-Rs from G1-J1 have their reservoir facing straight backwards near horizontally, and thus won't fit into an SV without relocating the battery completely.

pointy owners will correct me if i'm wrong but i'm sure the gsxr shocks are better suited to them

Yep thats what I think!
The only Kawasaki Shock that sort of works with a pointy is a 2006 zx10r shock.

But as will always be pointed out a aftermarket built to suit will always be better

Here is most the information on the swaps
