Default Dainese ST TRQ- TOUR Gore Tex Boot

I had a spare £170 left over from my cancelled insurance premium and decided to invest it in some decent boots.

I've always thought that Gore Tex was extremely expensive and trying to find anything below the £200 mark was very difficult. I had tried on a few Gore Tex boots before and for the amount they where asking there where very little features other than the waterproofing.

I stumbled across these on the internet after reviewing another product for the price of £169.99 they fit my budget perfectly and having Gore Tex for under £200 was perfect.

First thing about these boots is that they look great. They are a cross between a race and touring boot.

Protection:
The boot offers a good amount of protection; these include the shin protection and gear shifter pad as well as built in heel cup and ankle protection too. As far as I can tell there is also a stiffened support in the sole to stop your feet aching when on the pegs for a long time. Another feature which I hadn't seen before is the Dainese D-Axial Anti Twist system. This is basically a hinge that allows you to bend the boot forwards i.e when walking, changing gear. But stops your foot twisting sideways if you have an accident.

Build Quality:
The build quality is good, leather parts are soft and the sole has a decent amount of grip. Any part of the boot that comes in contact with yourself has a nice smoothed finish that doesn't aggravate your skin.

Fastening:
The fastening for this boot is a zip that does up at the back. At first I found this a little difficult getting used to as the boots I previously had where side opening with a zip and Velcro. But after the first couple of times I actually find it easier to get on and off than others. I found that the boots fits to your foot a lot more securely this way too. Dainese have also added Velcro adjustable tabs to allow for the rider with the larger calf.

Fit / Comfort:
I found these boots to be accurate to size. I have quite a wide foot and yet I was still able to order my right sizing. I have used these for a while now and they are comfortable to walk in, nothing rubs or aggravates your foot. I haven't done long distance walking in them but if your going to be doing that I'd wear walking boots.

Waterproofing:
I have only used these in moderate rain but as of yet my foot has remained bone dry. If I'm out on my bike when the next downpour hits I'll update this review. But from what I've read about Gore Tex I should have no problems.

Summary:
If your looking for a waterproof boot for under £200 look no further. They are a a good looking, very comfortable, feature packed boot that beats other more expensive Gore Tex boots out at the moment.

This is my first full review so If you liked it / found it informative please let me know. I've got some other kit I wouldn't mind reviewing..

Thanks
Dan
