Default Don't take life for granted.

I read something awful on the old facebook today that has greatly saddened me.

An old school friend lost her baby girl on Friday. She died a day or so before she was born. To have gone almost full term then to go through a 24 and a half hour labour knowing you have already lost the little being you have looked forward to meeting for so long must be so so heartbreaking.

I know it happens often, I know it's not a new thing for people to hear of but I just wanted to put this thread up for all those who have had a little one brought into the world and to remind you how precious they are (not that you would need reminding I know). This couple are so brave, as are so many parents who tragically lose their children and I just wanted a few thoughts to be sent out there.

Rest in peace little Jessica Lily.

I really do apologise in advance if this thread has brought back hurting memories and circumstances. Thoughts are with you. xxx

My thoughts and prayers go out to the parents in this very sad time. I can not begin to imagine what they are going through.

It happened in very similar circumstances to some close friends of ours. The funeral was so incredibly sad. It was their first child. I hope your friends go on and have more children just like mine did.

Oh Jesus. A miscarriage is bad enough, but to have to go through a still birth...

Having to name the baby. Then a funeral with a tiny coffin.

It's just unthinkable, I don't know how people cope, my son is my life, it would destroy me.

R.I.P Jessica Lilly, and given time and perhaps another baby, I hope the parents can recover from it too.

It was their first too. A young couple, recently married with their first place and a little baby would have completed the picture. Sadly not to be. Life can be so cruel.

She was already named, some time before she was due to be born. Sometimes this makes things worse but how can you help but think of the life that could have been.

Very sad. Our youngest had the cord round his neck when he was born which was quite scary enough. I can't imagine how we would have felt if he hadn't made it.

Yep very sad, it's actually not that uncommon unfortunately

The worst bit is they still have go through the birth don't they? This must be traumatic, can't imagine what they go through.

As others have said, hope they get another chance and it is born healthy.

Sad that any parent has to do this, you always hope it is never you, never mind what age the child is.
The words"No parent should have to bury their child" was said by my grandfather when my uncle died at 65[He was the youngest son],said with such deep feeling and sorrow by a man of 92.

Such sad news and my heart goes out to your friends. I understand some of what they`ll be going thru as I lost my beautiful son whilst I was in labour and I too was full term. Nothing I can say will make them feel better, it takes time, lots of tears and good friends/family. They will get there though and tho you never forget your lost child, the pain lessens and you learn to live life again.

R.I.P. Jessica Lily and may her parents find the strength and courage to deal with their loss xx
