...tonight at the Royal Albert Hall and on the Beeb at 9.15...anyone here watching it? Mrs Stingo will be featuring as she is in the Military wives choir...I understand they are kicking off the proceedings. Sat on the sofa with the kids now waiting..very excited and proud, and quite chuffed for her...after having been taken off the list of attendees two weeks she only found out Thursday night that she was back on it again!

I have set my Sky= to remind me when the time comes around.

I watched part 1 of the "The Choir" with Gareth Malone, part 2 set to record & on series link. Does the missus feature in that programme???

No, that's all the Chivenor mob who were set up first. My misses is with the Plymouth gang...same hierarchy though so it'll be both gangs united tonight. The series on the telly does look good though. Gareth Malone seems really passionate about what he does and it just seems to rub off on people.

As an aside theres been lots of good programs on the last few days

One about the Dambusters raid, One about the record attempt to build a Wellington bomber in the fastest time and theres been a couple of Time Team programs about digging crashed WWII planes out of bogs. Thoroughly interesting stuff and gives you an insight into what those servicemen got up to went through.

Very true Fizz. Isn't it funny how things very quickly become history? My dad flew Wellington bombers in ww2... Now they're making history programmes about them!

Watching 'The last heroes' missed every episode because of Strictly, but not tonight.

Tonight is about the siege of Bastogne the real life heroes from Band of Brothers

Yep very true, but I find the WWII stuff fascinating, I wish that I had been taught about this stuff at School instead of the ancient stuff I did learn about and have now forgotten.

Big +1 I'd probably have got a degree in history if I'd been taught WWII history at school.

My interest would have been spawned from a steady diet of stories my Dad told me, watching 'The World at War' on TV every Sunday morning and numerous visit to flying displays watching Spitfires, Hurricanes & Lancaster's & Flying Fortresses. Plus reading the Victor comics too
