Went to Djerba a few years ago. You will be fine if you stay in the hotel, venture outside & you get pounded by hawkers trying to sell you tat.
We did do a few of the trips out, Boat, Sahara desert etc, but even those were set up so that you stopped near to "Can you buy please sir" hawkers.
I didn't like the whole experience, the only plus point was the hotel, which was 5 star fully inclusive. I couldn't fault it at all.

And no, you can't wear Speedos, not because it's illegal in the country, but because it's just WRONG!

Yeah i been, speedos compulsary, and you can usually use other hotels bars/nightclubs, taxi drivers are lunatics, pre arrange a price first and you can take a trip to where they filmed part of star wars out in the desert hth

Been to Tunisia on my Honeymoon. It was rubbish.
Didn't like the place at all...and that was before the problems. What made you decide Tunisia after there had been a huge political upheaval? Are you sure your Insurance is valid?

Any way, people were hawking stuff left right and centre, the shops had all the same fake crap in, shop after shop after shop.
We went all inclusive but the food in our place was rubbush.
This time of year it's full of germans.

If you are flying into Sousse (depending on what time though) be prepared for a 3 hour queue (with no aircon) to get through customs and almost the same on the way out.

Its a closed currency so don't exchange more than you have to.

In all honesty it's a **** hole of a country but usually the hotels are a tiny bit of paradise. Our hotel was right on the beach so didn't have to leave the hotel to get there thank god.

Sorry it's probably not what you wanted to hear

we not going for shopping.. just swimming , reading and relaxing and having each others company ..

Price was the main factor.. it was a steal ... maybe for all the reasons you state above .. Libya now sorted (ish) so none of the hotels being used as hospitals..

we will stay on resort and take a 3km nice walk up to port el kantoui a couple of times maybe..

we dont really want nightclubs or shops or markets etc

Was looking at Egypt again or cape verde but price was major compared to here its just a quick winter break for Mandys birthday a short flight and a 20 min transfer .. we flying in to the new airport near Sousse not the old one you would have used on yer honeymoon I guess -

Always avoided Tunisia to be honest cos Mandy went there on her honeymoon 20 years ago but we decided this time give it a go.

We flew into Munastir. But they were building a new airport further North when we went there a year ago so hopefully you get that one.
