Riding home from work today and a kind guy on a Busa pointed out that my rear tyre looked a bit flat, went into the nearest garage to put a bit of air into it and found a nice nail in it.
Does anyone know of a motorbike tyre shop in the City area that they can recommend? Thanks Last edited by ukgooner; 29-04-08 at 07:47 AM. Reason: Changed location |

i am afraid i cannot help with this, but would be interested if anyone could shed any light onto whether that goop you fill your tyre with actually works if you get a puncture/ is it worth getting for a few quid?

Well it`s a long time since I lived down that way but there was a good tyre shop in Hornchurch , plus you have John`s of Romford as well .

I think you will find most car tyre places do bikes tyre repairs too now these days ... might be worth giving your local car tyre place a ring

I filled my tyres with ultraseal when i first got my bike - bout 6 months ago, saturday just passed found a nasty plasterboard nail in the tire... not pleased but first test for ultraseal ( that i know about anyway!)
Put on all the gear, pulled out the nail ( worried slightly by the hissing sound...) but jumped on and rode slowly half a mile or so to the nearest petrol station... checked the tire to make sure it had stopped leaking and it had! prob lost about 2-3psi max (not 100% on what was init to start with!). topped it up and went for an hours ride just to make sure (mainly up the a1(m) at 70mph ( yea rite!) and no probs at all... you may get away with fillin it into your already punchered tire as long as the nails still in the hole... pour in the ultra seal, fill up with air, pull out the nail and go for a ride!

I have had the AA put a temp bung in for now, I will make a couple of calls tomorrow at work and see if I can get a replacement fitted, or a repair.
Fingers crossed that a repair is viable as a new tyre is looking like £120 + ![]() |

![]() What I will add (and this is not a recommendation, just a matter of fact) although they are only supposed to be temporary, I have heard many reports that people have ridden a temp repair for many thousands of miles ... |

I`ve heard of temp repairs being used for the life of a tyre .
