Watching the St Pauls debacle and wonder why none of the activists interviewed were British,or should I say they all spoke with a foreign accent.
How come nobody i.e.interviewers, never ask about whether the people are British citizens. It was a similar situation with Crayshill. |

I was up at St Pauls yesterday.
It seems like an excuse for all the freaks to come out. A 60+ man in a crop top and crotch-high mini skirt (who wandered into the cathedral), a man doing an Irish jig dressed as a leprechaun whilst holding a banner complaining (I think) about abortion and *loads* of random posters defacing lots of walls and pillars in the area, complaining about all sorts of things, and lots of people with megaphones trying to make speeches but actually just arguing with each other. Absolutely no cohesion. Considering it's normally such a lovely peaceful place (even to me, a non-believer), it was rather shocking to see and kind of tainted my memories of my wedding day. I really hope they get moved on soon. These people aren't doing much (if anything) to promote their cause, which is a shame because I think a lot of people have at least a certain acceptance that the huge amount of greed and self-serving needs to stop, or rather, needs to be reduced to less obscene levels. |

Yes. Lovely it was. Wife was looking stunning, weather was perfect and everything went to plan or better - it really was the best day of my life (tho admittedly only so far). Oh, other than the fact that I didn't get to have any of my wedding cake because everyone else scoffed it whilst I was making small-talk with various random guests.

Then there's the ( Arch ) bishops complaining to the government about the proposal to limit benfits to £500 per week. ( tax free )
Bet there's loads on here would love that kind of money for a week's hard graft!

I think the problem has always been, where is the limit and when does it apply? Surely it goes back to changing peoples mentality - don't expect/rely on a handout from the state but it's there if necessary. There are people on this forum who obviously work very hard, are very committed to getting a new job but because they're trying to be good parents, looking after their kids, bringing them up well etc, they find they're being hounded by the state, which can't be good for the future of the country. |

Grauniad, Independent, take your pick:
" Eighteen Church of England bishops, backed by Williams and the archbishop of York, John Sentamu, are demanding that ministers rewrite their flagship plan to impose a £500-a-week benefit cap on families. " Their heads are either so far up in the sky or up theeeeeir fundamental orfices they even beat politicians for being out of touch with reality!
