Default Knee trouble - is this goodbye to sports bikes ?

The knee has been playing up for about 3 weeks - maybe a month.
I cant think of any incident , unless i knocked it getting in & out of the loft.
So whats the (1)symptoms & the (2)cause?
1 - lots of clicking when walking, discomfort at the back of the knee, ligaments dont feel right, takes ages for it to settle...not painful, but disconcerting when going up n down stairs...

2 - hmm, could it be shoes / boots, the sofa, the bed , or the bike
I noticed going over a sleepin policeman , it did strain my knee when i lifted my bum ...

I guess if i leave the bike for a few weeks over xmas / snowy weather, and my knee gets better, i will be in the market for a Hornet and my ZX6R will be for sale - first offer nearest to a grand has first bags!

Have you possibly injured your ankle any time in the last few months? That may sound odd but my knee was so painful the last few months and it was because of a small bone spur in my heel, which had caused the Achilles to become inflamed and then the calf muscle got so tight as a result that it made everything around my knee sore.

Sometimes an initial injury can heal but you end up putting pressure on another area to compensate in the meantime.

(I've now had the spur removed, a third of my achilles taken away, the rest reattached and rebuilt, and my calf muscle slit into and loosened - it all hurts!)

Don't ignore it, have it checked out, but like all wonky knees, you can ignore when riding, even if bits have dropped off

Go doctor.

Point at knee.

Cry lots.

Worked for me!

Do go doctor though. Your knees stop your butt dragging onthe ground...

I've had a knee problem for the better part of 40 years, All I need to do is avoid kneeling down - if I kneel (like having my **** rest on my ankles) then it gives me jip for months, - plenty of walking with good soft shoes that reduce the shock, and above all keep the leg straight. If sitting for a long period just gently exercise the knee. - you probably have a split cartilage.

Dude go see a doctor and get it checked out, there is no way in hell someone over the web can go oh its your....how the hell do know that? Don't accept it until all options have been looked at.

I hope its nothing serious, you get to ride your bike soon.
