Default Clutch Squeals

Just wondering if anyone thinks this is a symptom of something sinister?

When the bike is cold, the clutch squeals when I let it out the first couple of times. When I leave my road, I have to turn up a steep hill out of a t-junction, so it gets a little bit of beans and is obviously having to do more work. It squeals as it bites in, but stops when full let out. After I've been going for a few minutes I can do fairly quick starts without any squeals. The lever is all good, bites in fine, feels fine, and is generally ok apart from that.

It's not causing my any problems except embarrassment. Hopefully people are thinking it's a wheel spin and not a shoddy bike.

Anyone know what it could be and if I need to worry?

Edit: Ahhh ... found a thread on it when I searched and spelt 'squeal' properly. Seems like a common problem most people ignore?

Worn clutch plates, warped steel plates or worn basket making the plates stick a bit maybe? Any creep when cold.

sounds possible mate. I would love to take the clutch off and refurb it but I know it's a fairly big job. Not a 5 minute job anyway. No creep though. The only other transmission issue is it's hard to get it back into neutral after I've put it into gear when cold. When it's warm it goes into neutral easy (although 50% of the time into 2nd first though! )
