Default Some **** shot my pheasants

We back onto a field, across the field there's a wood, it was home to a family of phezzies. No they weren't mine but they used to come to our back gate, they were so tame, we would feed them bird seed, great honking and flapping of wings A few days ago we heard the dull thud of shotguns in the wood and thought 'oh no'.....

The phezzies haven't been, I think they're dead. I feel really sad, such beautiful creatures, they were so tame, so friendly, I don't understand why some ******** would want to shoot them.

Mum and Dad have a load of pheasants that come into their garden too. Love watching them!

Shame about yours though. Have you checked with the owner of the field that he allowed shooting on his land? If he didn't, at least report it to your wildlife officer.

Tasty though!

Three bird roast at xmas. Hmmmm.

Glad somebody shoots them, I've been trying to get one on the bike for years and never managed it.

Hit a few with either my body or the bike, but can never find the rest of it afterwards. Been trying to catch one in the head with the toe of my boot, figured that would be pretty clean and effective, my aim isn't good enough though.

Sorry to read that about them getting shot.
I hope whoever did ate them at least.

I almost headed one on route to the test centre for my mod 2 doing 60!
It seems there are quite a few round our way.

Always fancied grabbing one for the pot but I think I'll wait until I hit one rather than scooping up someone elses road kill

I hit one with my footpeg. Took it home with the intention of cooking it.

Well, it's a lot of feathers, guts and aggro to get it ready for the pot. The Butcher wanted £14 to prep it, and they go for £6 at the Farmers market so I dumped it back in woods for the foxes. Waste of time.

I thought it was just a case of gutting, plucking and chopping off the head & feet.

That's the bit I wanted to try.

Being a meat eater and never had to prep a dead animal, I feel a bit of a fraud.
It's on my bucket list. I hope to not have to intentionally kill an animal but will if I can't scavenge a tasty bite. Fish/rabbit/squirrel etc.
I'd better sharpen my footpegs.
