Default motorcycle courier for buying a bike?

i am interested in a sv650 but it is up country so i dont want to travel 350 miles to collect it. i have got a quote for a motorcycle courier to pick it up and deliver it for £100 which is cheaper than buying fuel and driving up there.

but how does it work as i wouldn't be able to sign the dvla forms etc to say the bike is mine.
or can i not use a courier, do i have to pick it up in person?

many thanks
matt

first where is the bike
is there a kind orger near who could drop it off for you (were nice like that) for a beer and bfh
have you seen the bike yourself (buyer beware etc)
as for paper work truth is dvla dont check signatures, so the seller can "sign your name" and the courier can bring the green slip with the bike (a word with them normally sorts that)

You'd need a ell of a reason to go that far for a bike that is fairly common. As Dp says, beware, there is no such thing as an unmissable bargain. Personally if you buy a bike wihtout a test ride, let alone without seeing it, I'd say you need the bumps on your head feeling.

There no such thing as an unmissable bargain. but its worth paying a little more for something you want, surely

I bought my first bike & it was 150+ miles away to far to be worth going up just to see and come back, but it was the one i wanted at the time, Great they delivered it the next day for around £75 and come in person wayhay !

But little to find out it had bad points like most things do, best to check may cost you to go see it but it saves you buying a reck in the long run.. thats my opinion anyway

I'd say the only way you know it's the bike you want is if you've already ridden one like it. A quick perusal of the forum turns up pretty much no agreement on which bike is the "best"!

Good one Matt, shows some commitment from the seller, so more likely to be genuine
