Hi guys
Need your advice please! Picking up a white sv with the blue stripe but don't know what kind of tank protection to get? Will a universal clear one be best because of the stripe? Don't want to ruin the looks at all? Thanks Nick |

Totally a personal preference thing, virtually all tank pads do the job of protecting the tank, if you want to make a statement then get something to your taste, if not then a plain black/white one would do, or if you want to retain the strip visibility then as you say a clear, there isn't a correct choice, up to you.
Oh, you're unlikely to damage anything as the adhesive on tank pads is easy to remove with a heat gun or hairdryer, so you can take it off if you change your mind. Cheers Mark.

It is at times like this that I wish we could get Cannibal Corpse Tank pads!
I have a pink fairy on my bike though, go figure! |

Thanks for the advice.
Whilst delaying getting one I've noticed the pain on the blue stripe is buffed in two parts already so i think ill need to rule out a clear one now ![]() Seems poor quality paint, my jacket not exactly rough material and no zips exposed. Also noticed a lot of light scratches on the blue bits but only in certain lights but guess thats from people trying bikes in showroom. Not sure how im going to hide these whilst getting a pad that looks good with the stripe. I've looked at pics of black ones but they just look out of place. tough one! |

I'm wary of tank pads since i purchased my sv. I took the one off mine that was on it as it was scruffy and it's absolutely ruined the paint. I'll try and take a pic after work.
I'm sure their not all like it but it's why I covered mine with this. ![]() |
