Sometimes my horn works, sometimes it doesn't. Generally speaking it occurs once the bike is up to temperature (circa 85 degrees, this time of year), which makes me think it might be related to overheating, but occassionally will occur straight from the off. If I had to put a percentage on it, I'd say the horn works 75% of the time. The horn is the OE one. The rest of the electrics work fine, any idea what it could be and which electrical connections I should clean/reconnect?
Just in case it could be related: I recently fitted a Kriega TANK which wraps round the rad mounts, but I can't see that this is fouling the horn, or the horn's wiring anywhere. TIA mighty .org. ![]() |

i had the same issue.. when it gets hot it makes a dull "THUNK" noise.. instead of the horn right.., basicly the plates are not contacting propperly to vibrate and sound off.. i just bent the horn plates closer.. worked for me

It's heat related a lot of the pointys suffer from it, try moving the horn to somewhere else. Idependantphoto had the same problem and took some pics of where he moved his to.
That's what you get for buying the (inferior) pointy model ![]()

sometimes just bending the horn back a bit from the rad's enough to resolve the issue

Rip it out and replace it with a decent nautilus one.

Will "insulating" the horn with tin foil offer any measurable amount of heat-protection?

Pincer the plates! Not to much but enough! It's better to do it when it's messing you around, If it goes cold then you won't know if it's worked
