Default Which GSXR front end for Pointy?

hello all, I have a 2003 pointy. I've been resisting playing with it as the plan was always to eventually sell it and get something bigger. However, i never have any problem running with the litre boys ( in till the motorway of course) and after a bit of time on comparison websites i've decided to upgrade instead of trade.

As it stands the bike has a slip on exhaust and a GSX-R 1000 K5 rear shock.
I'd now like to fit a GSX-R front end to it. Mainly for the brakes.

If anyone has already done any advice would be fantastic as i don't really know what to start.

What's the ideal year?
Will the standard front wheel still fit?
Do i need 600 or 750 set up?
will the forks fit the standard yokes, is the spacing right?
if i got the yokes too would in need to do anything to the head stock?

I'll rebuild the forks when i get them so i'm happy to buy well used items.

all advice is appreciated, thanks, Tom.

All the questions you ask, have been asked before and answered in great detail on here and on the svrider forum.

Use the search function, find the longest threads, read them, read them again, follow the links to other resources and do the same. Then you'll be ready to start looking for parts (tip: they'll be cheaper in the winter when there's less demand).

Hello there, thank you for the quick reply.

I have already tried this. When I eventually found the search function I wasted 20 minutes turning up no results. You seem to know what you're talking about so if you could make use of the search function and supply me with a few links to appropriate threads I'd be very much obliged.

if i got the yokes too would in need to do anything to the head stock? No, except fit GSXR lower bearing and special Twin Works Factory top bearing

to be honest if you have difficulty with a search on something as simple as "gsxr front" (keyword titles), then perhaps as the actually conversion is a tad more taxing, is it wise to start

and if as you say it's primarily for the brakes then adapter plates might be the answer ?
