So what have you bought the Scorpion pistol or the Scorpion rifle? I ask because you use both pistol and rifle in your post. I had the Scorpion rifle in .177 flavour and it was superb. I sold mine about 18 months ago in favour of the BSA R10, again in .177. If it's the pistol in mint condition it could be worth a little more than your asking price, they're very collectable, particularly as they were one of the few pistols made that were able to achieve the full UK power limit of 6ft/lb.

sorry, i bought a collection of guns, a couple of airsofting ones and then this bsa and another rifle were through in, the bsa i dont like and cant seem to work it so selling it, just checked the barrel its a 22 not a 177 so might even be rarer. i have a couple of other air rifles but they are broke haha. but yes its a BSA scorpion pistol 22, hard to break aswell cause its so powerful

Always wanted a rifle as a kid. Might treat myself to one next year.

Going to make do with call of duty until then

If you do, get a PCP rather than spring. It's easier to be accurate and they are quieter for garden plinking.

The Scorpion Pistol , I had one as a kid , there should be a plastic thing that came with it , you slip that over the end of the barrel and you can then crack it downwards towards the trigger guard to prime it for firing . You then drop the pellet in the open chamber at the top and rotate it around 90 degrees with the lever so it`s now ready to fire . They go with a hell of a noise and not the stealthiest of air pistols but they were a bit on the naughty side even in the 80`s

If choosing a PCP don't forget you'll need to charge it too. Either a pump or dive cylinder. My R10 being a buddy bottle rifle can and has been pumped manually, but I was ready to deposit a lung on the carpet afterwards. I immediately went out and bought a dive cylinder. As for plinking in the garden, that's fine provided a safe backstop is used. I don't need to tell anybody especially our friendly boys in blue (Pete) that pellets should not be allowed to leave your boundries. I also use silencers on my PCP's too, without one they go with a heck of a crack, not dissimilar to a .17HMR round, perhaps not quite so loud but not far off.

Used to find pushing the pellet down a bit, a drop of 3-in-1 & then a second pellet gave a turbo effect. So much so it blew the 'scope slide off the barrel!

I'll leave it to the buyer to sort out, they're getting a bargain as it is
