Hi i hear a 14 tooth front sprocket is the way to go for a little bit more poke round town? If so can i use a 14 tooth front sprocket and standard rear sprocket and standard chain?

A smaller front sprocket will aid acceleration. This will work fine with your existing rear sprocket & chain. You will almost certainly need to adjust the chain tension after fitting.

I went for a 47T rear sprocket with a slightly longer chain. The difference isn't massive, but is noticeable.

What combo would be best together to improve acceleration? I have been told that sometimes the smaller front sprocket accelerates chain wear
