Default Measuring brake disc thickness?

Quick one

Whats the easiest way to measure the disc thickness?
Is a standard plastic vernier okay, or is a micronmeter the way forward?

Thanks in advance
Andy

If there's a lip at the edge just make sure you're not measuring that. A micrometer is the best tool, but a very-near should do if you can get on the right part of the disc.
