Default DT50 Help

Hi Folks,

we are having problems with my Step Son's Yamaha DT50 (2005) bike and are struggling to find a good manual for it. Haynes do not have one for this year bike and a web search only brings up older ones.

Can any one recommend a manual or place to get one for the bike before I lose my patience and shove the damn thing up his... you get the picture!

It was running when we last had it, then he took it away and now reports to us that the shop there has had to replace the piston, con rod and crank due to them being cracked! They also told him that once they had replaced the parts that the engine was an Aprilia and that the exhaust was at fault.

It looks like the fault is in the electrics, so we need a wiring diagram to send to the little toad and get him to fix it and get riding.

I think, and this is an edumcated guess, the engine is an Aprilia AM6 used across a number of modern 50cc bikes. So hopefully that might help with finding a wiring diagram...
