Default Recommend me some waterproofs

'Ello

After a 1-piece waterproof suit and a pair of waterproof gloves, and instead of gambling I thought I'd ask my extended biking family.

Already have Spada WP's and although fine they do let in water on downpours, and take forever to dry.

Cheap as poss, but not to the point where it becomes pointlessly cheap and probably therefore not fit for purpose.

With the recent weather I fully expect to be in torrential rain every day for over a week leading to the GM.

All the usual requirements! I know nothing will stop water if its really gushing down but something light, easy to get in/out of, doesnt look pants, breathable, yada yada.

Ta!

i use HG's 2 piece waterproofs as you can take the jacket off when it stops raining then the trousers when it dries also if you knacker top or bottom either can be replaced.

used them all last year and cppl times this year and are fully waterproof.

as for gloves..... well if you do find a reasonable priced pair of waterproof ones gives a shout. otherwise its the marigolds

Hong, sounds like you might want good quality long lasting stuff.
All I can say is that I got rained on big time and these don't leak.
Cheap as chips almost disposable.

Cheap as chips

this jacket: http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/clothi...e-schwarz.html

these bottoms: http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/clothi...e-schwarz.html

but if i were to buy again i would get these bottoms: http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/clothi...e-schwarz.html

carry a polly bag and put over boots to get bottoms on easy.

the fist set of bottoms are a pain in the as they have mesh linings.

the jacket has buttons and can scratch tanks, mine is.

but when the weather is bad (AR 2011) i was completely dry inside.

i wish someone would make a pair of over gloves no not mits but proper gloves with fingers made from the same waterproof stuff as the jacket, that would be assume.

I got the wife a HG one piece oversuit for our recent Normandy trip, didn't leak a drop and we got rained on big time for days.

Was only £40 too.

I've had a pair of the Spada Enforcer gloves for about 18 months and they are still warm and waterproof. Robust and well made too.

Maybe this is a silly question but when looking at sizing charts for waterproofs, do I measure myself with or without leathers on?

I've been advised several times when buying a waterproof oversuit, to buy one that is marked several sizes bigger than I would normally. My previous set was an XXL where I would fit a large in any other item. I bought a large size oversuit from Lidl and the arms and legs are a couple of inches too short. Could have done with the XXL again.
