Default Valve Clearances Good at 44000 Miles

Checked my valve clearances today on my 2001 curvey at 44000 miles and they were all easily within limits. I ran over the service interval a little to around 17000 miles for the first check; they were all within limits but as I was doing a pointy cam swap I teaked them to the middle of the limits. At about 30000 miles I checked one cylinder only and found it to be very much as it was when I'd done the cam swap - being lazy I didn't check the other! I'm not really suprised they are still spot on but as I had some pointy cam chain tensioners to fit I thought it would be silly not to check, but I'm not sure I'd be in a hurry to check when it reaches 60000miles!

I did mine 10k after fitting JHS cams and found 7 needed adjustment!

Then again I did have a habit of doing an entire tank of fuel at a time above 9500rpm on the motorway...

Ouch! Have you no mechanical sympathy? I only rev to the max on track days, and I haven't done any for about 2 1/2 years now.

At least I checked them And it did get regular oil changes...

And anyway that engine has now got somewhere near 105,000 on it so I reckon I must have done something right.

Only rev to the max on track days? That mean you don't even use the rev limiter as a redneck quickshift?
