Just filled up at Tesco after doing 213.6 miles and only required 12 litres to fill to the brim?

Jeez that's good going. I'm around 150 miles from full to light on. Had a service recently too inc throttle balance etc. Tyre pressures kept at 33f 36r and checked regularly.
Yours running sweet getting them kind of miles? |

It is well looked after, only 4 years old and running smoothly. I'd expect 150 to reserve light, and generally get that usually. Was seeing how much I could get if I tried hard enough!

got to ask......why, if it's a one off to see the max mpg OK, or even a budget thing I'd understand, but you don't really ride like that all the time, do you ?

213 / 2.64 = 80.7 mpg No mate, the SV doesn't do 80.7 mpg unless you rode it downhill for 213 miles. You must have made a mistake with your odometer and forgot to reset it last time you put fuel in, or there's a problem with it over-reading, or it bubbled up to the brim but wasn't full and settled back down again. These threads come up from time to time, and 215 miles is about the best anyone on here ever claims to have got out of a full tank (and I beleive them because I once got 195 miles out of mine), so assuming they didn't actually run out of fuel, that's a 15 or 16 litre refill and about 65mpg. Well I did reset it and the odometer isn't broken and I know the mileage I was doing roughly even without the odometer. I'll admit that was some easy riding but definitely did around 210 miles.
Unless tesco is lying about the amount it is filling up ! |
