Default something new on the bike security front ?

I hadn't seen this before, well not in a padlock anyway.

Never seen the point of these systems, unless you are close enough to the lock to chase them away, in which case use a normal alarm. If you're out shopping or at work, then you know some scrote is trying to steal your stuff, but there's feck all you can do about it except call the police, who won't get there in time. How frustrating is that?

Cheaper option!

Buy decent Abus etc and handcuff wife/husband to it (with mobile)

They can then call you to let you know if any scum are having a go at bike!

no way for that price. I have a text message unit on my house and garage alarm, works a treat.

Ditto on my garage as it's next to the house and if some scrote tries the door (or even approaches it) then it will wake me up and I can go out and greet them properly. On a padlock of that strength I'd have to question if they would attack the padlock anyhow, the chain/hasp would be easier. Can't even do a group buy unless four of us all live within 150 feet of each other.......

I'd want a really fat discount off the insurance for that. And then the insurance company to pay for the lock as well if it DID get knicked. £430 is the biggest part of what I'd get off them in the event of a theft anyway!
