my speedo has been going crazy and has now finally died. ive measured the sensor pins at about 5 Meg ohm. one of them is totally O/C which i presumrd to be the screen. im pretty sure its knackered. i expected nearly a couple of K ohms. but before i buy a new one. are these a common failure item or does anyone have the resistance of a new or good sensor?

The most common failure is that the splines snap off the magnet in the front wheel, giving erratic speed measurement. If you have not yet checked this, do so first.
No idea about the electronics though, I consider this to be dark magic at the best of times! ![]() |

yeah i would say check the magnet first see if its broke. if not you can then test the sensor. There is a test in the haynes manual.

The problem with my K3 speedo was with the connector under the tank. Took wheel off and all the tabs were ok, so I lifted the tank, removed the airbox and sprayed some WD40 in the conector, that seemed to fix it.

New assembly time , they are about £30 from Suzuki Dealers , and you need a specific K3 one as well if my memory serves me correctly .

Here is the part number for the K3 unit 34983-21E00 , I am pretty sure the Tab spacing is different on K4 onwards

That's broke that is.
New one: Clickety click. That page lists rotor for a Curvy but the early Pointy is the same, K5 onwards is different.
