seen new lock sets on ebay just wondering what my options are? guy at suzuki has told me to take my tank to locksmith and get key cut from the petrol cap..
how hard is new lock set to fit this will include full ignition barrel/petrol cap etc etc |

Don't get it cut from the tank lock - it only uses the lower few tumblers so the key will be incomplete and won't operate the ignition lock. Remove the ignition and find a locksmith who will cut from that.
Is the steering lock engaged? If yes then: Remove whatever parts are in the way, (dependant on whether yours is faired or not), and remove the stem nut and loosen the upper yoke clamps, then remove the lock screws, (the only slight complication is that you'll need a security Torx bit to turn the screws), and lift the yoke away from the stem before trying to displace the lock. If the steering lock is not set, you can sometimes remove the lock bolts and wiggle it out of place without disturbing the upper yoke.

thanks guys ive tried to remove it and see ur problem with the star keys undernieth so ill borrow tool from work tomorrow from me tool box as i am a engineer.... i take it the ignition module comes away quite easily?
do u think local key cutting places can sort me out do i need a genuine locksmith? sv suzuki keys are just keys there is no chip inside or anything just need a key cutting to my ignition |

Long shot, but you haven't got the original rider's handbook with the lock number written in it?
