So me and my fella' are going camping this week (fingers crossed) its round about 80mile there and we're going in a forest which has a owner.
I was just wondering since we're going on the bike is there anything thats ESSENTIAL (excluding sleeping bag, tent etc) we have a tank bag, big ruck sack and a set of panniers. And does anybody have any advice for camping out with the bike? Thanks ![]() |

Sidestand puck.
It will stop the bike falling over ![]() Camping under trees is very nice - but be aware it does mean if it rains, while you are sheltered in some ways, the drops that hit your tent will be larger due to collecting on leaves on their way down, so will be louder. If you are camping amongst trees, take a big tarp with you - using bungees you will be able to rig up a big shelter that you can sit under to cook etc instead of just having your tent. Always put 2/3rd of your available bedding beneath you, the ground leeches body heat much quicker than the air ever will, best bet an inflateable matress (even cheap Tesco beach lilo's will work nicely and they are cheap and pack down quite small)

If you forget a sidestand puck, a crushed beer can does the job very well too I've discovered

You've spelt "bedroom" wrong there.

Possibly a silly question but, does the owner know? If not you may have an interesting conversation at some point with them, or a gamekeeper, especially if there are breeding birds close by (it's nesting season remember).
