September - Good weather for riding?

As I live abroad and don't know how it is in Britain, I thought I'd ask; is it good weather to ride in September usually? I'm thinking more about the lower Wales and south England region.

You never know with the UK mate. Temperature should be ok in September, but it could be beautiful sunshine, or could be rain. The further you go into Wales though, the greater your chances of rain.

I've been to Wales in beginning of July and it was rain and wind most of the time. Just thought whether September might be a better month?

We usually get better weather here in September than I got in bloody Malta in September 2010

Yep, September's turning out to be more reliable than June, July & August these days

in east south wales at the moment and only had 2 days of dry days.. quite humid.. from what I gather, the valleys have changeable weather between regions. Rumour has it that september will be much more of the same as the weather this month, ie changeable rather than an extended indian summer ( dont quote me on that)

There's tell of an Indian summer on the horizon seeing as we've had such crap weather all through May, June and July Might even stretch into October but I won't hold out too much hope on that one.

Statistically speaking, when we have had rubbish summers, September and October have always been good, but even with good summers they havent been bad months to be fair.

From a gardeners perspective, it wasn't til we hit the end of July that decent weather kicked in. I've got stuff in I should have planted a month back, but something says the risk will have the right call. I reckon September may have a wee bit more rain, but be more like a traditional July/ August. It's all a month behind, by the time October comes I should expect some cooler but sunny skies......coz I'm on me jollies!
