Default Which ZX10 shock for Pointy - 45 or 90 degree reservoir?

I bought a little while ago a 04 ZX10 shock, with the 45 degree reservoir. Is it worth selling that and getting one with a 90 degree reservoir or is the installation and cutting not hard? would i need to get a smaller battery or would it all fit?

Its going on a Pointy K4

Thanks in advance

Tom

i'm in the same boat with my new rear shock. Weighing up the cost of getting the right one to modifying/cutting/new battery scenario. TBH i think getting the right one is a better more sensible option right now

I put a k6 gsxr rear shock in my 04 pointy. It also has a 45 degree resoviour . I won't lie it was not easy to fit. But it is do able. I cut the battery box out. Made and made a new support bracket out of aluminium to hold it. Then I relocated the ecu so I could move the battery back. It sounds harder than it is, and well worth all the effort.

However I would say if I was to do it again I would buy the right shock with a 90 degree resoviour lol. But now you have it go for it.

DJ beat me to it, I would prefer not having to relocate ecu etc, but if i can't find a decent 90 edgree shock and sell his one, then i will have to make do!

DJ, fancy doing it first then helping me?

ZX10R 06-07 is the only shock that i can see that will fit with just removing the plastic shield. all others will require cutting of some sort. this is unless you are a massive pie eater then zx14 06-08

done mine tonight, and i didn't need to relocate anything! Had to cut a small section of the battery box away, and slightly raise/tilt the battery. Will upload the pictures soon

The 04/05 ZX10 works on curvys, the 06/07 is for pointys.

The 04/05 would probably break your spine on a pointy unless you weigh about 22 stone
