Default Curvy frame gets hot.

hi i use my bike sv650s 1999 curvie to work about 63 miles when i get off it i notice the frame of the bike , side is fairly hot , is this normal , i know the engine is there , but i never thought the frame would get that hot , my fan doesnt come on , and i know its working so carnt be over heating , just thought id ask , thanks

The engine is physically bolted to the frame, so some 'heat sink' effect going on there. Also, the rear exhaust exits back there, plus any convection from the block. The heat sink effect being the largest contributor.

As you can tell from the above, one would expect a fair bit of heat to be transferred to the frame after a long run.

I'd still say you should be able to keep your hand on it for a few seconds though ... it shouldn't be 'sizzling' hot ...

normal. took me 3 months to notice as cant feel it through my leathers. but got in once, changed into shorts, and leg got hot in shorts as i rolled the bike down my drive. and i thought the same thing
