SV650 K4 - front brake ABS or not?

Hi all just after a bit of advice as I'm a bit of a novice biker, on my way to work this morning I was doing my usual filtering through the motorway traffic when the inevitable happened and a large van decided he wanted the outside lane, no indicator didnt see me and a very fast wip across but not enough room to get right over and was left hung out hence blocking my path! I was doing at most between 25mph and and applied my brakes thankfully road dry and I came to a stop about 2 foot from his rear corner!!! My question is on braking hard on the front it made a rattle noise similar to that on my car abs but don't know if the bike has it or is it a fault I need to get looked at?? Ive checked the book and it says nothing? Its a 54 plate k4 650 faired...Oh and the driver did put his window down and appolagised just as I was about to offer him the one fingered salute!!!
Any advice much appreciated!!!

Not sure of the question, do you mean was it the ABS system giving the feeling you got, or are you asking if you have an ABS system?

As yours is a K4 I don't think it has ABS, that wasn't fitted until later models. What I think you have experienced is the front tyre juddering as it was just on the edge of losing traction - you did well not to lock it up. As such the brakes would appear to be working just fine, so no, not a fault.

Hi thanks for the response, I've just googled and realised about the abs on later models, it was more the load metalic rattle that got me worried to be honest! I was just concerned it was a fault on the brakes but as you said was prob just tyre judder but again thanks for the advice!

I myself did swear a bit, which included a few f and w's haha but 1st incident in 2 years so not to bad!!! And it made the old ticker pump a bit faster😳
