Right i know this is bike talk stuff but its also tuning/tweaking .. as..
Iv been practising doing wheelie's ![]() Iv got it up in the air & now starting to feel more comfy with doing so, but its so hard to try & get it in the air in the first place... worth going to a 14 front sprocket instead of the 15 standard one? (i know it will make engine more buzzy from the extra revs for 70mph top gear) iv done the bounce technique in first and that's okayish, but i really want to be-able to clutch it up in 2nd which iv only had afew hopeful success's with. ![]() Disclaimer ** *I am no way breaking a law or intend to do so, or want to encourage others to do so for that matter* ![]() Last edited by k1ngy SV; 16-09-12 at 05:27 PM. |

more rev's as you clutch it in second*, the sv torque is enough to lift it with power if you have the technique right.
*I in no way encourage wheelies, or accept any responsibility when/if you bin the bike. |

start on 5k, then blip the throttle upto about 7/8K, your moving faster and is a lot scarier but works better.
if you shut right off and snap the throttle back to the stop using them engine speeds, it should also lift. Ride with the Lostboys by any chance? |

Right, something i know i have read on the forum on other wheelie threads, is DONT
i think its cause the sv is a wet clutch, and so when the bike is wheelieing you are effectivly starving the engine of oil, which we all know is bad and leads to bust engines. hth or let someone correct me if im wrong |

Telford lostboys, banned from riding as a group by most organised ride-outs, my personal opinions are to strong for the forum, but they can teach you how to ride a bike on the back wheel.
Wheelies do lead to oil starvation in the front cylinder. and SV's are known by stunters to seize mid wheelie unless you modify a front cylinder oiling system, which help but dont eliminate the problem (dont ask me how to do that). yes that would be the correct way to do it but this is higher speed than your used to, dangerous and without having experience in wheelies and stunting is plain stupid. Dont complain to me when/if you bin it, at those speeds if something goes wrong you WILL get hurt the best leathers arent going to save you from seriously getting hurt and i take no responsibility for other peoples stupidity in stunting road bikes. |

*& i understand your opinion as i share the same, though its always nice to have a little extra skill & im loving the adrenaline rush from them. *& isnt that the risk we take by being alive everyday? the risk of binning are bikes being stunt or road alike & hurting are selves ![]() |

i dont want to listen to people complaining at me for my advice hurting you. trained stunters learn tricks of leaving there bikes to fly off minimising damage to themselves, and stunt bikes have roll bars so you cant flip them so easy. |
