Hi,
My sv650 is my first bike since I passed my test.. Basically It was advertised as having the above restriction, he said he'd remove it before delivering the bike. Last night me and my mate went for a ride he has an sv650 of the same year but his was alot more powerful than mine, so I'm convinced the restrictors are now still in the bike. Where are they located normally? cheers |

First question, is it a 'Pointy' or 'Curvy' Model?
If it's pointy, it's typically an electronic ECU that replaces the stock one (under the riders seat, behind the battery), if it's a Curvy, it'll be a mechanical one (although someone else can hopefully assist with the various locations it could be) Last edited by Steve_God; 11-10-12 at 03:24 PM. |

Well the common type are just metal washers that sit in the rubber inlets between the carbs and the engine (and work by limiting the airflow to restrict the power), but there are also throttle stop restrictors too.
Best bet would be to check for the washer restriction given they're more common. |
