My old battery wasn't holding its charge well and would go dead without a week of use, so bought a new battery thinking it was a simple solution.
However when installing the new battery, the bike keeps trying start even with the ignition set to off or lock. Turning to kill switch on and off has no effect and it keeps trying to start but not turning over. Any ideas where we should start looking? Thanks. |

Do you mean that as soon as you connect the new battery, the starter motor engages, even if there is no key in the ignition? At this point the bike doesn't start up, just turns over?
If the above is correct, trace the positive wire from the battery top the starter relay on by the right side of the rider's seat. Check the terminals are not shorting on something. Jambo
