Default Mounting a TomTom?

More late night ebay sessions resulted in a TomTom Rider 2 being delivered yesterday.

Unfortunately TomTom don't think any bike have clipons so the mount they supply is useless.

Been looking at various options of RAM mounts and one of these

Anyone recommend anything?

I have a tomtom rider mount in the desk drawer, my bike came with it on. I have clip ons and it was mounted, can't remember how now.

Think it used the plate with the screw hole at the bottom.

You went for the v2 then, good choice

The mounts aren't useless, all you need is an extra 1 inch ball mount.
Most common is to mount the ball on the centre yoke nut, but I mounted mine on my sprint under the db screen, it's perfect as its in your line of sight.

You can get the ball mounts in many guises from ram themselves no problem.

That does look good Phil. How did you mount it there?

I have worked out I can mount it on the brake reservoir but need some longer screws. The yoke mount is 34 quid posted. Seems like a lot!

The sprints have a metal support bar at the back of the clocks, drilled and tapped it 8mm for a through ball I already had.

I'm happy to have a butchers at yours to see best place to mount it if you want.
The basic 1" balls are only about £10, I can mount that to your yoke nut worse case.

What sort of monies do the Rider V2 go for these days? I have had one for over a year now and have used it twice!

Lenny, my TomTom mounted to both the SV and the Daytona with the standard mount. My brother in laws Garmin on his VFR is mounted using the same standard mount. It bolts onto the clutch or brake lever.
