Default Done a really stupid thing- feel free to laugh

So I passed my direct access in October & bought an sk3 & I love it. Had it all seviced & checked over by a mate & got it back on saturday. Took it out for a spin with a mate on sunday - only the 3rd time I've been out on it & i managed to drop it turning it round in her cul de sac . Felt like a right tit!!

Luckily her hubby was there to help me pick it up. Fortunately I got away with it lightly & only cracked the right indicator casing (but it still works) and scraped the bar end a little. I managed to get my leg out so it didn't get squashed.
I had to go home & tell my hubby who took the **** out of me & told me next time to leave my leg under the bike so it doesnt get damaged!

Thought you all might like a giggle at my expense but please feel free to tell me it happens to everyone at some stage & make me feel better. I need it.

So now I need a front right indicator and replacement bar end. If anyone has any spares they'd consider selling let me know & how much you are looking for. Otherwise its an ebay job & £20 for each.

Keep telling yourself that mate

To the OP, we all do it now and again - it happens and you have to count your blessings if the damage is minimal. Last time I did it was putting my previous bike in the garage and tripped on a bag of cement - I save the bike with my leg but had to shout for help to get the bike off me....

Nope, never ever dropped a bike at a standstill in front of people, not me
Never driven off with a disc lock on in front of all my mates either

You're in good company

Lots of us have done it, the trick is to try to do it when nobodys around.

It's like the question posed by the greek philosopher: If a bike falls in a parking lot with nobody else around to see it do you have to admit it happened?

Had an amazing ride up the mountain with some fellow orgers. When we got to the top for a stop I was so astounded by the view (*this will remain my excuse until I die), that I simply got off the bike and walked off! Cue hilarious slow motion drop with fellow orgers looking at me and shaking their heads in desbelief.

Welcome to the club

This is the real reason for dark visors, I have found.

We've all done it. I dropped mine pulling up to a T junction in Epping Forest. Went to put my foot down and there was a big dip. As I had a big expensive chunk of titanium in my arm at the time I decided it would be cheaper to let the bike go than rip the plate out of my elbow - again! So £78 for a new gear changer as opposed to £7500 for another elbow op - bargain!

Crash bungs are your friend.

(Now I wonder if Christopher will come on here and admit that at AR this year he parked his bike like Jeremy Clarkson parks a scooter - i.e. without bothering with the stand)
